When creating a commission for a client, I am dedicated to truly capturing the essence and unique personality of each subject I draw. As artist, I firmly believe that every individual, pet, or subject has it's own special inner beauty that can be highlighted and celebrated, rather than simply replicating a photograph. To achieve this, I place great importance on the reference I use for my work. Whenever possible, I prefer take my own photographs, as this allows me to control the lighting and composition for the best results. Once I have selected the perfect reference, the real creative process begins. I thoughtfully compose the layout and embark on the drawing journey using my signature “slow and steady” technique. In my black and white drawings, I gradually build up the tones from light to dark, paying close attention to every intricate detail. For my color pieces, I work with high-quality colored pencils, acrylics, watercolors, or pastels, to layer various hues to create rich textures and nuanced tones that truly reflect the subject's character. My focus on detail is what sets my work apart, and I take immense joy in bringing each drawing to life.
